It has been over a year since I last submitted a piece on DA.

It's neat to discover I still feel a thrill from the unveiling, just like I used to back then~

I finished this piece roughly 4 months ago in a complete state of nostalgia over announcement that she was hosting a Monsterball. AKA-an excuse to torture those sona's of yours that would sooner destroy you then dress up.

The event seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to unveil my first ever fully colored rendition of Remnant Nomine (RemNom for short).
It was no secret as well that I was ecstatic to see that many of my DA idols where getting involved as well.
It took alot of time, patience and effort-3 things that have proved rather elusive for me this past year.
But the end result was worth it.

Who is RemNom?

A loaded query indeed.
RemNom has embodied my fears, strengths and faults for the larger portion of my older life. She is both beastly and beautiful-lost somewhere between these two extreme's within herself.

She was those parts of me I only glimpsed in my weakened and uglier moments. Those set of eyes that met and held my own when I faltered.
She evolved from a simple 'battle form', to the final product of a desecrated race, then ultimately rested on embodying Nomine's darker side when she lost control of her life and attempted to force strength to manifest where there was none.
She was that armored shell we all long to hide behind when we know the darkness has ensnared us, and is seeping through the cracks...

Her history is far too sordid and incoherent to list in chronological order-but it suffices to say she has helped me work through many of my trails as she has always been a symbol of strength, and defiance to the forces that would consume us.

This piece was meant to be a dedication to her, as she is now officially retired from my repertoire of characters.
It was a hard thing to do, considering how long she has been with me.. but it was a necessary step for me to grow and move on.
