DW_Halloween

Tyks hovered patiently nearby, waiting for Claire to acknowledge him. Her Ipod was blaring, and she had that far-off look in her eyes as she worked. Today was Halloween, and Claires school-day had been a particularly terrible one. The schools holiday festivities had been nothing more than a collaboration of insults at her expense; and as her music raged on Tyks could tell she was still drowning out the cruel words of her classmates.

Meanwhile, Magi was rushing about joyously, appearing and disappearing just as quickly as he raced in and out of Claire’s empty room. He had quarantined himself in there all day, and her door gave an audible slam as he scurried about, trying his best to work in secret despite all the ruckus he was making. He was so caught up in his work that he had completely forgotten to meet Claire outside the school-grounds today. Something Tyks thankfully, had not forgotten. Staring after his bustling companion Tyks lifted his small ribbon-like arm and tapped it on Claire’s shoulder. She startled noticeably, and silenced her music for the first time since she had arrived home.

“Tyks I’m sorry! How long have you been there?”
He rubbed the high brow of his forehead before answering honestly, “I don’t member.”
Cracking the smallest of grins, she took out her ear buds and waited for him to continue.
“Won’t your dad be mad at you for doing that to the curtains?” he asked.
“Only if he notices.” She replied, turning back to her work, “which he won’t.”
Tyks watched her unsteady progression for a time before smiling earnestly with his eyes.
“Let me help you with that.”

With Tyks help her costume was finished in no-time. Claire normally went out to purchase such things, but this year was different. No clothing line she knew of would have been displaying such a ludicrous design, so she had been forced to try her hand at creating one.
Her small friend had been surprisingly knowledgeable with patterns and needlework, a skill she was certain he had acquired from his extensive readings.
As she parted her hair, Tyks readied a small bow and began weaving it seamlessly into her hair.
Her grin broke into a smile as she realized Tyks was the one who did this every morning for Magi as they got ready to accompany her to school.
“Hay Tyks,” she said with audible appreciation, “You really are such a kind and reliable friend.”
His busy hands slowed, than fell quietly at his sides.
Claire had never complimented him before.

An exuberant voice erupted from down the hallway, Magi was in costume and anxious to go!
Claire could feel his excitement, and in one motion she threw her school-bag over her head, and tucked her hands at her sides before turning back to Tyks.
His private smile sang out through the warm sparkle in his eyes, as he swiftly took his position on her head.
“I’m ready too!” He chirped.

Claire was the first one to the porch, and together she and Tyks patiently awaited Magi’s grand arrival.
Neither of them had been allowed to glimpse what the small Digimon had been up to all day; and they now found themselves ripe with anticipation to see his completed costume.
A tiny shadow appeared amidst the porch light, and briskly emerged eager to join his two companions.
He paused at the sight of them as his bright grin erupted into a contagious smile.
Tonight was going to be a wonderful night.

I love that Claire's dress is too long for Magi to wear properly ^^ Here's hopeing he avoids going through any mud puddles~

Anyway!

^_^ I really had ALOT of fun with this piece-but it certainly got to the point where I felt like I was hitting a brick wall.
I remember once viewing a piece by Hibbary, and she stated she wanted to 'overwork the shadows so that she could learn how much was too much, and thus when to stop.'

I feel I applied that mentality alot to this piece, and I certainly learned some neat things along the way :3
